Accreditation Criteria for VM Educational Programs

The current criteria were published in the June 1993 issue of "Value Times" after they had been adopted by the Institute at the recommendation of its Education and Training Committee, which had sought comments of members and taken them into account.

The current criteria are being re-visited and it is anticipated that the new set of criteria, when adopted and then published, will be expressed in modular terms so that they are more easily used in development of educational programs, which have recently emerged as a series of modular courses.

The current criteria take the form of a series of "subject areas" which should be included in VM educational programs if the programs are seeking Institute accreditation. At the time of their publication, the Institute's Executive Committee (now the "Board of Management") included the following comment: "It is intended that this set of requirements will be refined over time, and members are encouraged to provide continuous feedback ..." which should be addressed to the Hon Secretary.
