Accredited V M EducationTo help in providing competent people for Value Management work, the Institute offers an accreditation service for educational programs in Value Management. The criteria used to date in assessing VM educational programs were published in The Value Times in June 1993. These are currently (i.e. at Nov 2002) being re-visited and it is anticipated that the new criteria, when adopted and then published, will be expressed in modular terms so that they are more easily used in development of programs, which have recently emerged as a series of modular courses. At present there are two educational programs which the Institute has accredited as meeting the educational requirements for various grades of membership or the additional specialist credential of Registered VM Facilitator. It must be stressed that the Institute's requirements for admission to these grades/credentials include both educational and experiential requirements, so that educational attainments on their own are not sufficient for satisfying the admission requirements. For educational programs which the Institute has accredited, an accreditation certificate is issued suitable for public display. Further, the Institute has developed a means whereby the providers of accredited programs can have the Institute's endorsement on certificates that they may issue to people who graduate from their courses. This certificate endorsement is optional for educational providers. Accreditation is granted for three years at a time and may be renewed if, at the time of renewal, the program meets all the criteria then applying. Each of the contact people shown below is a Fellow of the Institute and is currently a Registered VM Facilitator with substantial professional experience. Each is therefore well placed to provide credible advice on VM educational solutions pertinent to the needs of individuals or organisations.
